Things got out of hand, quickly… The Maple Leaf Quilt.

So I’m doing the farmer’s wife blocks, and having SO much fun with them, and I come across the Maple Leaf block. Cute! It makes me think of my Canadian brother in law and the rest of our family (my sister in law and nephews) up in Ontario, and I decide that I totally have to make a Canadian Maple Leaf quilt. Next thing I know, I’m sketching out a million 6.5 inch blocks and up to my eyeballs in red and white. Things got out of hand, quickly.

I may never ever use red (Kona Poppy specifically) or white again, but I’m happy with how it turned out!

I wanted there to be a sense of lightness towards the top of the quilt and I think I achieved that. I was in such a rush to send it out for Christmas that I never took a picture of the back– it was Dots by A.E. Nathan.

Now that Christmas is done, I’m back on the Farmer’s Wife train. SO MUCH FUN. (Have I mentioned that?)
