About

Hi! I’m Melissa. I’ve always been a crafty broad, but now it’s legit. I’m an at-home mom who discovered a passion for the creative outlet of sewing a little over three years ago. (It is such a great way to create something concrete in the midst of the mommy mommy mommy chaos, amiright?)  I started quilting about two years ago, and fell in love with the modern quilting movement the minute I discovered it existed. Now I split my time between sewing for myself and my girls, and quilting. I’ve gotten so much inspiration from sewing blogs, I’m hoping to pay that forward by sharing what I’m working on in my little corner of the interwebs.

What the hell is pukanunu? Just a silly term of endearment I call my two girls. I also call them turkeys, but that’s an even stupider name for a blog.

Currently obsessed with:

  • The MQG branch I started in Montgomery County, Maryland (facebook.com/mocomqg)
  • Farmers wife blocks. I’m a lazy wife, only maybe 10 blocks in.
  • Learning how to free motion quilt patterns besides basic meandering and loops.
  • Making the 3 year old sleep past 6:00am.
  • Sew South! SO EXCITED
